Day 1: Arrival
Arrival in Tbilisi International Airport.
Day 2: Tbilisi
Today, is dedicated to visiting the beautiful capital of Georgia. We will have the opportunity to visit its narrow streets, wooden carved houses and balconies, old churches, Abanotubani – sulfur baths, a fortress that proudly overlooks the city and enjoy the golden fund of the museum, where we will see and get familiar the unique remnants of the Argonauts’ travels to Georgia.
It is known, that the signs of working on cloisonné enamel are still found in antiquity of Georgia. Fortunately, this tradition is still preserved today and Georgian enamel has regained its old glory. There are many cloisonné enamel workshops in Tbilisi and in whole Georgia, we visit one of them and see with our own eyes the secrets of its processing. At the end of the day, we will feel the atmosphere of the city by walking through the streets of old Tbilisi.

Day 3: Tbilisi - Mtskheta - Uplistsikhe - Kutaisi
Today, we will visit the ancient capital of Georgia and the religious center – Mtskheta, whose history dates back more than 4000 years. It still existed before Christ and according to legend the robe of Christ is kept in this city. Here we will visit the UNESCO World Heritage Sites – Jvari Monastery (VI century) and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (XI century).
Later, we will visit a local winemaker, where we will taste bio wine. It is known that the Georgians had already put wine in a pitcher during the Argonauts’ journey to the Kingdom of Colchis. Our goal will be to taste the wine made by the same method. This method is included in the list of intangible monuments of UNESCO, while Georgia is recognized as the homeland of wine.
We will also visit the rock-carved town of Uplistsikhe, where the ancient Silk Road passed thousands of years ago. In the evening, we will arrive in the city of Kutaisi, which is also connected with the myth of the Argonauts and which was the capital of the invincible kingdom of Colchis.

Day 4: Kutaisi - Vani - Prometheus Cave - Kutaisi
The present day will be devoted to a tour of places, that are directly related to the journey of the Argonauts. First of all, we will visit the ancient city – Vani, one of the most powerful cities in the kingdom of Colchis in the time of the Argonauts. It is the center of the greatest archaeological discoveries. Old Vani still dates back to BC. It existed in the I millennium, discoveries from that time still amaze the visitors today.
Then, we will see the sights of Kutaisi, we will see the beautiful karst cave – Prometheus and Gelati architectural complex, which is included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Day 5: Kutaisi - Nokalakevi - Mestia
From Kutaisi, we go to the ancient fortress-city – Nokalakevi, which was the political center of Kolchis in ancient times and the most important city. According to some researchers, the mythical city of Aya, from which Jason, Medea and the Argonauts stole the golden fleece, was located in the place of Nokalakevi.
Then, we take the road to Svaneti, which has been the cradle of gold mining in Georgia since early civilization. The primary goal of the Argonauts was to gain this knowledge by stealing the golden fleece – gold-plated sheepskin.
In addition, Svaneti is an ancient and distinctive part of Georgia. The high towers are harmoniously combined with the huge mountains, cliffs and the important samples of Svan architecture make an indelible impression on the visitor.

Day 6: Mestia
The population of several villages of Svaneti still follows the centuries-old tradition of gold mining in the river. If fate smiles on us, we can get golden grains from the river with our own hands. After that, we will visit the Mestia Ethnographic Museum, which includes a variety of expositions. The materials preserved as a result of archeological excavations, the unique works of Georgian engraved art and icon painting, the ancient manuscripts and items bring admiration to the visitor. In the evening, we will enjoy Svan polyphonic songs.

Day 7: Mestia - Ushguli - Mestia
Today, we will visit the highest populated place in Europe – Ushguli. It is located at an altitude of 2 200 m. and is included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The amazing view of Shkhara, the Svan towers and the ancient temples create an exotic and fabulous environment.

Day 8: Mestia - Batumi
From Mestia, we will arrive in the beautiful region of the Black Sea – Adjara, where the Argonauts first set foot. In 1984, English explorer Tim Severin replicated the route of the Argonauts and proved that, such a long journey was possible even in ancient times.
In the center of Batumi, the statue of Medea, the daughter of the Colchian king – Aeetes – boasts a golden ram. Medea is considered to be the first maker of medicine, that could make medicinal plants. The term – medicine is also associated with its name.

Day 9: Batumi - Gonio - Batumi
We start the morning with a visit to the historical fortress of Gonio (Apsaros), about which information is found in ancient sources. The founding of Gonio Castle is closely linked to the myth of the Argonauts and Medea’s brother Apsaros. It is a well-known fact, that the Colchians fought the fleeing Argonauts right here and Jason Apsaros saved his life here. Free time in the afternoon.
